Meeting held at Summerfield United Methodist Church

Board Members Present: Ryan Schone, Catherine Draeger, Nya Taryor, Martha Davis-Kipcak, Tim McCollow, Tony Farrell, Stephanie Calloway, Antoine Carter, Bonnie Halvorsen

Board Members Absent: Damian Coleman, Kristen Fledderjohn, Tatiana Maida

July Food Council Meeting Debriefing

Update On Community Announcements

Will try to collect community announcements at September meeting

Full Food Council Meeting Notes Policy Created:

Secretary takes notes during meeting, VP takes additional notes especially when secretary is speaking, Treasurer will put them together into one document and send to board for review. Board approves meeting notes at the following board meeting. Notes are then posted on web site with approximately three weeks for public review and commentary to be received by email and web site contact form. Added comments from meeting attendees and members will be added to bottom of minutes when approved by executive committee and finalized / closed one week prior to the next full food council meeting.

Food Council Board Meeting Notes and Minutes Policy Created:

Secretary takes meeting notes and after the board meeting creates a summary minutes document highlighting discussion points and official business conducted. Board meeting motes are for internal board use; board meeting minutes are released to the public after they are approved by the board at the following board meeting.

Collaboration with City of Milwaukee / Food Policy Task Force Updates

Visited by Erick Shamberger City of Milwaukee Office of Environmental Sustainability and Angie Hagy from City of Milwaukee Health Department

Discussed why there still isn’t a food policy task force, ways to get sustainable food policies passed by city, food system related licenses, Local food policy audit done by Resilient Cities, city helping to highlight work of food council and ciuan

Suggested to create memorandum of understanding between city and food council
