Automatic Google and iCal Event Importing
Our calendar system has the capability of automatically importing public events from your public google calendar or other web-based calendar system. This allows you to create the event on your public google calendar or other supported web site, and then also have it appear on our calendar system without any extra work, resulting in extra exposure for your event through our various communication channels. All you need is a public web-based calendar system which supplies an iCal link.
This is how it works:
- You send us the link to your iCal calendar feed.
- We add your link to our calendar system.
- Our calendar system imports your upcoming public events from your calendar feed.
- We manually approve the event and add additional information as needed.
- Your event appears on our calendar system after we approve it!
Once we have your calendar feed URL in our system, then any future events you create on your public calendar will automatically import into our calendar system too. However, note that every event must be individually manually approved by us before it appears on our public calendar system.
To get started, please contact us with your public calendar iCal feed web address (URL) and which event(s) you are requesting for us to import, either one time or on an ongoing basis.
Need help finding your google calendar feed address?
In google calendar, click the gear icon on the top right and choose “settings.” Then click on the link for “Calendars.” Note that the calendar you want to share must be under “My Calendars.” Click on the name of the Calendar you want to share and then click on “Share This Calendar.” Check the box next to “Make This Calendar Public” and click on the [Save] button. Go back into the settings for that Calendar and click on the green [iCal] button next to “Calendar Address”. There you will see the address of your calendar feed, and you can highlight and copy / paste it. Be sure to include everything from https: at the start through to .ics at the end.
