Food Sovereignty and Sustainability

The UWM Food Center and Pantry has partnered with The Electa Quinney Institute and American Indian Student Services to host panel discussions on food sovereignty and sustainability led by our remarkable guest speakers: Angela Kingsawan, Fawn Pochel, and Joanie Buckley. We will also have a few copies of the books: The Sioux Chef’s Indigenous Kitchen, Decolonize Your Diet, and Foods of the Americas to raffle off for free to guests, thanks to support from UWM’s Student Involvement.
There will be two different sessions, starting at 11am and 12:15pm. Join us for one or both, as time allows! Between sessions, we will also have a refresh and resource break to informally gather and chat about how to support regional Indigenous food sovereignty efforts.
