Farmer To Table at The Tandem

There is “Farm to Table” and then there is “FARMER to Table!”
We are excited to announce that Venice Williams, Executive Director of Alice’s Garden, will be the guest chef at The Tandem on Thursday, February 8, for lunch and dinner, her first of several appearances at Tandem. Thursday evening is The Tandem’s Homestyle Cooking Night. Venice is pleased to bring some recipes from her home kitchen to the tables at Tandem.
Raised by her father, a chef/baker/caterer, and her mother, a grocery store manager and gardener, food…nourishing, tasty food…has always been front and center in her life. So many have been fed in and from her kitchens, and at her “tables.” She simply wants to share her love of preparing comfort meals with more of you in the city. Venice wants to give back to the city so much of the love it has shown to her over the past 28 years. What better way to do this than through food?
Caitlin Cullent, owner of The Tandem, says Venice was her “first neighbor,” as they got to know each other at Alice’s Garden,(located across the street, and to the west of the restaurant;) as Caitlin dreamed and planned for Tandem, before its doors ever opened. Alice’s Garden vegetables and herbs have been in Tandem dishes and drinks. Now the farmer arrives to cook for you!
Don’t worry. You will still be able to order your favorites from the menu. Venice will just be adding little “something” to the deliciousness already being served. Stay tuned for the menu, but make your reservations soon by calling (414) 885-1919.
